The Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Bulgaria was awarded in the prestigious competition "Crystal Scales of Justice" of the Council of Europe

The Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Bulgaria was awarded in the "Crystal Scales of Justice" competition of the Council of Europe. The annual European prize is awarded for innovative practices contributing to the efficiency and quality of justice.
The Special Mention of the Jury of the Crystal Scales of Justice Prize was presented by its President, Mr Giacomo Oberto, to the Representative of the Supreme Judicial Council, Mr Boyan Magdlinchev, at the official ceremony on 27 October 2017 in Edinburgh, Scotland, during which the European Day of Justice was also celebrated.
The Supreme Judicial Council participated in the competition with the initiative Educational Program "Judiciary - informed choice and civil trust. Open Courts and Prosecutor's Offices", implemented since 2014 jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science. The Educational Program was presented by Ms Daniela Masheva, a member of the Supreme Judicial Council and a spokesperson for the Prosecutor's College of the SJC.
The SJC's nomination was among the four nominations for the Crystal Scales of Justice Award, selected among 37 proposals from 18 countries and two international organizations. The nominations were designated by an international jury of prominent legal professionals.
The Crystal Scales of Justice Award was awarded to the Kingdom of Norway for an initiative dedicated to the witnesses in the trial, implemented jointly with the Red Cross Organization.
With the special award of the jury, the nominated initiatives of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Italy were awarded. Information about the ceremony, presentations of the four awarded initiatives and photos of the event are published on the Council of Europe website.
